In his two years at Kings Point, Bruce Smith proved to be one ofthe Academy’s most versitle athletes.  A two-year letterwinner for the football team, Smith was a standout on both theoffensive and defensive sides of the ball.  Offensively, Smithplayed fullback, end, and quarterback while playing linebacker,defensive end, and in the secondary for the defense.  Onspecial teams, he also handled punting, kick-offs, and extrapoints. 

In addition to accomplishments on the football field, Smith wasactively involved in weight lifting activities on campus. Although it was not a varsity sport, many midshipmen vigorously,participated in the sport and he was among the top lifters. Prior to attending Kings Point, Smith had scholarships for bothfootball and academics from Southern Methodist University inDallas, TX.  Following graduation, he was again offered afootball scholarship from SMU.
