United States Merchant Marine Academy

Robert Wiechard was a four-year letter winner for the footballteam and a two-year letter winner for the track team.  In 1952he became the first Kings pointer to be named Little All-America bythe Associated Press. 

Wiechard served as captain of the 1952 squad and was therecipient of the 1953 Adm. Stedman Trophy.  He received awardsthroughout his career at Kings Point, including honorable mentionA.P. Little All-America as a junior and Newsday All-Long Islandoffensive guard and linebacker as a sophomore.
