From the time he first put on a Kings Point football uniform to the last time he took it off, Mark Delesdernier III started every game. A four-year letter winner, and starter, Delesdernier led the Mariners to a 23-14 record during his tenure at the Academy. He was named team captain in 1978 and later received the USMMA Alumni Award, the Superintendent's Award, and the Hanley-Naegle Award, given to the team's Most Valuable Defensive Player. Delesdernier was named All-Conference all four years he played, made the ECAC Honor Roll on several occasions, and was ECAC Rookie of the Year Runner-up in 1976. Football was not enough to keep Delesdernier active and he was also a four-year starter and letter winner on the Blue and Gray's Wrestling team. He placed 5th in the New York Metropolitan Wrestling Tournament in 1976 and 3rd in 1979. While at Kings Point, Delesdernier earned nine letters in all, served as Class President his First and Third class years, and was a Battalion Commander.
