United States Merchant Marine Academy

Kurt Van Yost was a four-year letter winner as a member of theswimming and diving team.  A seven-time All-American in thefreestyle events, Kurt also held five metropolitan collegiateseason records and five academy records during his tenure as amidshipman. 

In 1973 he was the recipient of the ECAC Merit Medal whichhonors scholar athletes.  Van Yost captained the 1972-73swimming and diving team and was selected as the recipient of the1973 Adm. Stedman Trophy.
