Nick Halbach ’11 was as consistent as they come on the diving boards for the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy swimming and diving team. He qualified for the NCAA National Championship every single meet of his career, and was a four-time Individual National Champion, winning the one-meter and three-meter platform disciplines at the NCAAs during both the 2008-09 and 2010-11 seasons. A two-time National Diver of the Year, Halbach set a then-NCAA record on the three-meter platform in 2011 with a score of 591.65. He also won the Landmark Conference and ECAC Diver of the Year Award in all four seasons of competition, and was the Metropolitan Conference Diver of the Year in three consecutive seasons from 2009 through 2011. Halbach was the USMMA Athletics Rookie of the Year in 2007-08 and was a three-time Team MVP from his sophomore through senior campaigns.
