Robert G. Domini ‘54 was a three-year letterwinner in basketball and baseball and captained each team during the 1953-54 academic year. He was best known for his leadership skills and setting a positive example for his teammates through hard work, dedication and bringing a very competitive attitude. In basketball, he was named to the All-Long Island Collegiate Basketball Second Team in 1954 after averaging 10.1 points per game. In baseball, he was a member of the Knickerbocker Intercollegiate Baseball Conference All-Star Team in 1954 and posted a .363 batting average. Domini was the first alumnus to come back and coach at the Academy when he took over the helm of the men’s basketball team. The Cadet Officer and 4th Company Commander was a Scholastic Star, Class Vice President as well as a member of the Michelson Scientific Society and the Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers Propeller Club.
