Bob Igoe is a man who needs no introduction to the members of the Academy’s department athletics, as he has been a fixture in the sport's family since 1961. Bob has served as a recruiter of student athletes to the Academy for over 42 years in the states of Connecticut, Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina. He has recruited well over 100 players for Blue and Gray teams, including four highly skilled and outstanding quarterbacks on the football team, as well as a Stedman Trophy winner. Bob was a recipient of the Alumni Meritorious Service Award in 1967 and the Captain James Liebertz Memorial Award in 1995 for outstanding contributions to the varsity athletics program. He also received awards from the Blue & Gray club in 1971 and 1976 for his never-ending contributions to varsity Athletics. The accolades continued when into 2002, Bob earned the Alumni Distinguished Service Award for athletic recruiting and his part and the organization of the Golf Classic in North Carolina. He currently organizes and conducts the Tar Heel Alumni Chapters Kings Point golf classic, hosting over 120 individuals annually for a week of golf and social activities. He has earned both a Masters of Business Administration and a Doctorate Degree from New York University's Graduate School of Business Administration.
