Robert Lavina, a Division-I football transfer, was a three-sportletter winner in football, basketball, and baseball.  As ajunior, he was named Honorable Mention Little All-America infootball while also winning the ECAC Merit Medal as theAcademy’s top junior student athlete.  Lavina stillholds two Kings Point records, the most notable being mosttouchdowns scored in a game (5).  He was a star member of the1968 football squard which finished the season with an 8-1 recordand which ranked 17^th nationally.  Lavina isconsidered one of the best running backs to have ever played forthe Mariners.
