United States Merchant Marine Academy

Brian Coyne ’96 was the recipient of the Academy’s Admiral Giles C. Stedman Trophy for top male athlete after his senior season in 1995-96. He was a four-year letter winner and starting guard for the Mariner basketball team and served as the program’s captain his junior and senior years. An All-Skyline Conference selection, Coyne finished his career at Kings Point ranked eighth all-time in scoring at the Academy and first in three-pointers made. He led the 1995-96 team to a first-place finish in the Skyline Conference and a trip to the championship game of the ECAC Tournament.
