Konnor Bye (Liberty Hill, Texas) and plebes Garrett Rees (Rising Sun, Md.), Easton Millard (Scottsdale, Ariz.), and Tommy Tan (Norfolk, Va.) led the way for the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men's outdoor track and field team at the CGA Spring Invite on Saturday. Fellow underclassman Holden Collier (Mount Vernon, Wash.) also
chalked up a top 10 finish while several Mariners put up personal bests throughout the day.

Bye took first in the triple jump with a leap of 13.04m (42' 9.5") and second in the long jump with a mark of 6.65m (21' 10"). Rees registered his second straight top five finish finishing third in the discus with a throw of 41.89 (137' 5"). Millard posted an eighth place finish in the javelin with a 40.26m (132' 1") mark, while sophomore Alex Cortier (New Port Richey, Fla.) PRed with a toss of 37.10m (121' 9").
Tan recorded a seventh-place finish in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.61, while Collier crossed the finish line in 10th in 400 meters with a new personal best of 53.33. Senior Alex Burita (Annandale, Va.) and freshman Ethan Alliot (Sheridan, Wy.) recorded new PRs in the men's 1500m. Burita was Kings Point's top finisher in the event, finishing with a time of 4:23.61, while Alliot followed after in 4:23.76.
Merchant Marine will lace it up next at the Wilton Wright Invitational hosted by Southern Connecticut St. the following Saturday, April 12, in New Haven, Conn.
