MAHWAH, N.J. (March 29, 2025) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men's outdoor track and field team kicked off their 2025 campaign strong at the Ramapo Invitational. Junior
Ben Anastasoff (Litchfield Park, Ariz.) and freshmen
Garrett Rees (Rising Sun, Md.),
Easton Millard (Scottsdale, Ariz.) and
Logan Ginther (Clovis, Calif.) led the way with a pair of top 10 finishes. All three also joined seven other Mariners with new personal bests on the day.

Rees posted two top 10 finishes, finishing fifth in the discus with a personal best mark of 42.63m (139' 10") and seventh in the shot put with a toss of 12.31m (40' 4.75"). Millard placed a personal best with a throw of 43.10m (141' 5") in the javelin, finishing fifth, while Ginther had another in the shot put with a mark of 37.57m (123' 3") to finish 10th.

Anastasoff made a statement in his first race of the year in the men's 10,000 meters, crossing the tape in tenth with a time of 36:06.44.

Four distance runners also posted new career bests in the men's 1500m with freshmen
Ethan Alliot (Sheridan, Wy.),
John Piangozza (Smithtown, N.Y.) and
Thomas Bailey (Hartville, Ohio) crossing the finish line with times of 4:32.89, 5:01.50, and 5:10.92 while fellow plebe
Rory McWeeney (Portland, Ore.) had a personal best in the 5000m finishing in 19:34.70.

Four Blue and Gray sprinters recorded personal bests. Freshmen
Holden Collier (Mount Vernon, Wash.),
Colin Robertson (Milford, Mich.) and senior
Grady Ward (Double Oak, Texas) all posted personal bests in the 100m and 200m. Collier was Kings Point's fastest runner in both events, finishing with a time of 11.94 and 24.13, while Robertson followed after in 12.04. Collier also had another PR in the 400m with a time of 53.26, while Ward set new career bests in the 100m and 200m with times of 12.45 and 26.70 in both events, and plebe
Tommy Tan (Norfolk, Va.) hit a new personal best in the 400m hurdles in 1:03.36.
