KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 24, 2022) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men's track & field team went back-to-back! The Mariners captured 2022 Skyline Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship for the second-straight season, winning the meet hosted at USMMA with a team score of 252 points. Farmingdale State came in second place with 209 team points.

The Mariners also nearly swept the major awards, if it wasn't for a tie for the Rookie of the Year. Senior Aodhan Meyer (South Kingstown, R.I.) earned Track Performer of the Year honors, classmate Michael Delesdernier (Metairie, La.) took home the Field Performer of the Year award, freshman Jason Healey (King George, Va.) was the Rookie of the Year and head coach Kayla Koelbel (won her second-straight Coach of the Year award.
 
The Mariners' winning events for the day are listed below. All first-place finishers are individual conference champions and also earn First Team All-Skyline. 

• Senior John Lynch (Point Pleasant Beach, N.J.) in the 100m (11.37)
• Senior Leon Wilson (Troy, N.Y.) in the 200m (23.34)
• Healey in the 400m (51.43)
• Senior Tyler Pittman (Albuquerque, N.M.) in the 800m (1:59.42)
• Senior Lucas Jordan (Littleton, Colo.) in the 1500m (4:10.80)
• Meyer in the 5000m (15:56.05)
• Meyer in the 3000m Steeplechase (10:15.96)
• Sophomore Joaquin Olmedo (Blanco, Texas), Wilson, Healey and Lynch in the 4x100m Relay (45.07)
• Healey, freshman Blake Giannamore (Portland, Texas), sophomore Lance Clemons (Westlake, Ohio) and Pittman in the 4x400m Relay (3:31.96)
• Freshman Grady Ward (Double Oak, Texas) in the Pole Vault (4.10m)
• Senior Sean Rojas (Westminster, Colo.) in the Shot Put (10.67m)
• Delesdernier in the Javelin (39.25m)

• Wilson in the 100m (11.48)
• Healey in the 200m (23.64)
• Clemons in the 400m (53.08)
• Freshman Konnor Bye (Liberty Hill, Texas) in the Long Jump (6.12m)

• Delesdernier in the Discus (27.95m)
