Box Score FAIRFIELD, N.J. (April 19, 2026) – The USMMA tennis team defeated Skyline Conference foe Yeshiva, 5-2, on Sunday night at the Fairfield Racquet Club. The victory improved the Mariners' record to 7-3 (5-1 Skyline), while the Maccabees fall to 6-7 (4-2 Skyline) in defeat.

The Mariners won the doubles point in exciting fashion, as the first two results were split – junior Brent Mathews (Falls Church, Va.) and sophomore Fredrich Buquel (Mission, Texas) earned a 6-1 win at #1 before Yeshiva won a 6-3 decision at #3. The #2 pairing of sophomore Aaron Zhao (Temple City, Calif.) and freshman Keegan Dutton (Temple, Texas) went to extras and eked out a 7-5 victory.
 
In singles action, the Mariners went up 3-0 after triumphs by Mathews at #1 (6-2, 6-1) and freshman Zach Diep (Oxnard, Calif.) at #5 (6-4. 6-4). The Maccabees got on the board with a win at #2 before Zhao clinched the team victory with a three-set conquest, 7-6 (7-4), 1-6, 6-2. Junior Alex Lewis (Williamsburg, Va.) closed out the Mariners' scoring with a 6-1, 6-3 win at #6.
 
Up next, the Mariners welcome in Mount St. Vincent this coming Wednesday, April 22, for a Skyline Conference showdown at the Brooks Stadium Courts.
