KINGS POINT, N.Y. (May 27, 2025) – D3baseball.com announced the All-Region Teams for the 2025 season and the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy had two players represented on Region 3 (New York), as sophomore Luke Kruer (Sellersburg, Ind.) was named to the Second Team Outfield and sophomore Tommy Chiappetti (Buckeye, Ariz.) earned Third Team honors as a Utility.

Kruer, the Mariners' starting left fielder and the program's fourth-ever conference Rookie of the Year, was tops on the team and in the Skyline with 52 RBIs and 10 home runs. His 10 homers were the second most in single-season history. The 2025 All-Skyline First Team selection was also ranked in the top ten statistically in four conference categories, finishing second in steals (25), third in slugging percentage (.662), fifth in OPS (1.132), and 10th in hits (55).

Chiappetti was an outstanding all-around player for the Blue and Gray in the outfield and on the mound in 2025, tying for fifth in the conference in steals (18), ranking sixth in runs scored (48), and tying for sixth in hits (56). He was also third in the Skyline in ERA (2.61), sixth in batting average allowed (.240), and tied for 10th in wins (4). Like Kruer, he earned First Team All-Skyline honors.
