Mariners Finish Second At NJAC Championships Behind 14 NCAA Cuts, Five Academy Records And 17 Podium Finishes

COLLEGE PARK, Md. (Feb. 18, 2024) – The #25 U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men's swimming & diving team finished in second place at the 2024 NJAC Championship Meet held at the University of Maryland this past weekend. The Mariners achieved an impressive 14 NCAA Cuts (eight 'B' Cuts in swimming action and six NCAA qualifying scores in diving). Additionally, five academy records were set throughout the weekend and the Mariners reached the podiums with top-three finishes in 17 events.

Up next for the Mariners is the two-day NYU Winter Invitational this coming Friday and Saturday, Feb. 23-24. Prelims will take place beginning at 10 a.m., while finals will be held at 5 p.m. on both days at the Palladium Athletic Facility on the campus of New York University in Manhattan.
