Women’s Cross Country Competes At Conn. College Invitational On Saturday

WATERFORD, Conn. (Oct. 19, 2024) – The USMMA women's cross country teams took part in the ultra-competitive, four-race Connecticut College Invitational on Saturday up at Harkness Memorial State Park. The Mariners produced a ton of personal bests throughout the day at a meet that featured 11 Teams ranked in the top-30 in the country competing, along with at least ten more holding regional rankings.
 
Meet Link Senior Katherine Kerchner (Reading, Pa.) was the first Mariner to complete the 6K course, and she did so with a season-best time of 23:58.0. Sophomore Victoria Crofford (Fairfax, Va.) was the next to cross the finish line with an overall personal-best time of 25:44.1.
 
Freshman Morgan Doll (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) shaved over a minute and a half off of her previous best 8K of the season, as she continued her remarkable rookie campaign by crossing in 27:39.0, while sophomore Katie Bray (Trussville, Ala.) ran a season-best time of 30:23.6.
 
Up next, the Mariners will compete in the Central Connecticut State Mini-Meet this coming Friday, Oct. 25, up in New Britain, Conn. Action is set to get underway with the first of two women's 3K races starting at 3 p.m. at Stanley Quarter Park.
