KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 18, 2026) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day in dominant fashion on Saturday afternoon, defeating Purchase, 24-2, at Brooks Stadium. The Mariners honored 15 seniors prior to the game, with eight earning starts and the group seeing significant time throughout the contest. With the win, USMMA improves to 8-5 overall (4-1 Skyline), while Purchase falls to 1-9 (0-5 Skyline).

Dylan Sullivan (Warwick, N.Y.) led the offensive outburst with four goals apiece, while sophomore
Landon Locke (Midlothian, Va.) paced the attack with a game-high seven points on two goals and five assists.
DeTommaso added four points on two goals and two assists, and freshman
Nathan Mangus (Sugar Land, Texas) contributed three points on two goals and one helper as the Mariners generated balanced scoring throughout.
Additional contributions came from across the roster, including multi-goal efforts from juniors
Luke Holava (Virginia Beach, Va.) and
Brendan Ring (Philadelphia, Pa.), while freshman
Nathan Sharp (Sherwood, Ore.) also found the back of the net. Senior
Damien Martin (Rockville Centre, N.Y.) added a milestone moment with his first career goal during the first-quarter surge.
Defensively, USMMA controlled possession throughout, holding a commanding 43-9 advantage in ground balls and winning 27-of-30 face-offs. Rupli and Johnson combined for 22 face-off wins, while multiple Mariners contributed to a strong defensive effort. In goal, Swinerton earned the win with a scoreless first half, ending the afternoon with one save, and junior
Joseph Montazella (Lyme, Conn.) made five stops in relief.
Purchase was led offensively by Kevon Joseph and Chandler Redwood, who each scored once, while Ryan Haberski dished out two assists. Goalkeeper TJ Pasqualini made 13 saves in the loss.
The Mariners return to action on Wednesday, April 22, when they travel to face Mount St. Vincent in Skyline Conference play. Opening face-off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
