Mariners Roll Past Mount St. Vincent, 22-5, On Wednesday Night

BRONX, N.Y. (April 22, 2026) – The USMMA men's lacrosse team continued its strong run in Skyline Conference play with a 22-5 road victory over Mount St. Vincent on Wednesday night at Marillac Field. The Mariners built control early and expanded the margin throughout all four quarters. With the win, USMMA improves to 9-5 overall (5-1 Skyline), while Mount St. Vincent falls to 6-9 (3-3 Skyline).
 
Game Link Sophomore Landon Locke (Midlothian, Va.) led the offensive outburst with a game-high eight points on seven goals and one assist. Senior William Badeer (Pittsburgh, Pa.) followed with five points on three goals and two assists, while classmate Owen Barcus (Annapolis, Md.) added four points behind three goals and one helper. Freshmen Ryan Sullivan (Warwick, N.Y.) and Nathan Mangus (Sugar Land, Texas) each chipped in two goals, and eight different Mariners found the back of the net in the balanced scoring effort.
 
Defensively, USMMA controlled possession throughout, holding a commanding 52-26 advantage in ground balls while forcing 25 turnovers. Senior Michael Valentine IV (Massapequa Park, N.Y.) recorded four caused turnovers and five ground balls, while classmate Christian Meyers (Miller Place, N.Y.) added three caused turnovers and six GBs. Sophomore Tucker Kuhn (Towson, Md.) led the effort at the face-off X, winning 15-of-23 draws and collecting five ground balls. In goal, junior Julian Garcia (Lakeway, Texas) earned the win with three saves over nearly 54 minutes, while sophomore Jack Stehlik (Hood River, Ore.) made one stop in relief.
 
Mount St. Vincent was led offensively by Mattias Remes, who recorded a goal and an assist, while four others each scored once. Alfred Lamptey paced the hosts with five ground balls, and goalkeeper Max Mills made 19 saves in the loss.
 
The Mariners return to action this Saturday, April 25, when they travel to Mount St. Mary for their final regular-season game. Opening face-off is scheduled for 11 a.m. in Newburgh, N.Y.
