MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (Sept. 19, 2026) - The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women's cross country team competed on Saturday morning at the Cardinal Invitational, hosted by Wesleyan University. The Mariners had three runners record season-best times and another post a personal best in the 6K race.

Sophomore Eleanor Romeo (Carson City, Nev.) led the way for the Blue and Gray, crossing the finish line with a season-best time of 24:30.2, while classmate Lili Telvi (Southampton, N.Y.) also posted a season best with a time of 25:54.4.
Sophomore Harmony Taylor (Morgantown, Ky.) came across the tape in 27:09.7, a new season best, while junior Olivia Campbell (Perry Hall, Md.) PR'ed with a time of 34:16.0.
Merchant Marine also lost its head-to-head matchup with arch-rival Coast Guard in the battle for a point in the overall standings of the 2026-27 Superintendents' Trophy.
The Mariners return to competition next Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Golden Eagle Invitational at 11 a.m. at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, N.Y.
