PURCHASE, N.Y. - The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women's cross country team had a strong effort on Saturday morning at the Purchase College Invitational. The Mariners had a pair of top-10 finishes in the 4K race.

Sophomore Eleanor Romeo (Carson City, Nev.) led the way for the Blue and Gray with a fourth-place finish and a personal-best time of 16:34.3, while classmate Lili Telvi (Southampton, N.Y.) crossed the finish line in sixth with a personal best of 16:55.4.
Sophomore Harmony Taylor (Morgantown, Ky.) rounded out the Mariners' finishers, coming across the tape in 19:10.3.
The Mariners return to competition next Saturday, Sept. 19, at the Cardinal Invitational, hosted by Wesleyan University, at 11 a.m.
