PURCHASE, N.Y. (Oct. 26, 2025) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women's cross country team finished second at the 2025 Skyline Conference Championships, finishing second out of 12 teams Sunday morning at Purchase College. The Mariners totaled 69 points, finishing just eight points behind champion Sarah Lawrence, who posted 61 points.

The Mariners boasted a total of three All-Skyline performers at the meet, with two on the First Team with top-five finishes and one on the Second Team with a top-ten finish.
Freshman Eleanor Romeo (Carson City, Nev.) led the way for the Blue and Gray, winning the first race of her collegiate career to capture the individual 6K championship with a personal best time of 24:21.9. Romeo earned Skyline Runner of the Year honors at the post-meet ceremony.
Classmate Lili Telvi (Southampton, N.Y.) continued her breakout rookie campaign right behind, posting the first second-place finish of her career in 25:01.9. Telvi was named Skyline Rookie of the Year at the post-meet ceremony. Romeo and Telvi also landed on the All-Skyline First Team.
Junior Victoria Crofford (Fairfax, Va.) added an eighth-place finish with a time of 25:46.6 to earn Second Team All-Skyline honors. Freshman Harmony Taylor (Morgantown, Ky.) came across in 26:58.9 while junior Katie Bray (Trussville, Ala.) and sophomore Karley Rush (Trinity, Fla.) rounded out the USMMA runners with times of 31:14.8 and 32.41.6.
Merchant Marine returns to competition on Saturday, Nov. 8, for the ECAC DIII North Championship Meet at the Hudson Valley Sports Dome in Milton, New York. The race starts at 10:30 a.m.
