Women’s Lax Picks Up 19-2 Road Win At Mount St. Mary

NEWBURGH, N.Y. (April 15, 2026) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women's lacrosse team extended its winning streak to seven games with a 19-2 road victory over Mount St. Mary on Wednesday evening in Skyline Conference action at the Knights' Kaplan Field. The win improves the Mariners to 8-3 overall and 6-0 in conference play, while MSMC falls to 5-5 (4-2 Skyline).
 
Game Link Sophomore Reese Ripley (Denver, Colo.) and freshman Sarah Litz (Westminster, Md.) each recorded five points to lead the Mariners, with Ripley scoring five goals and Litz adding four goals and an assist. Junior Leslie Wysong (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) contributed five points on three goals and two assists and controlled a game-high 10 draw controls, while junior Grace Picozzi (Collegeville, Pa.) added four points (3G, 1A).
 
Sophomore Amber Fields (St. Augustine, Fla.) also posted four points (2G, 2A), while sophomore Lana Hayes (Toms River, N.J.) chipped in two goals. Defensively, junior Juliet Trouse (Riverdale, N.J.) led the Mariners with a game-high nine ground balls and five caused turnovers, while sophomore Nicole Nagengast (Seaford, N.Y.) added three caused turnovers. In goal, senior Karianna Eagle (Little Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) made three saves over the first three quarters to earn the win, while sophomore Ava Booker (Tampa, Fla.) closed out the final period.
 
Mount St. Mary received goals from Shannon McGowan and Delisianna Naccarato, while McGowan and Kasey Senior each recorded an assist. In goal, Peyton Curley made nine saves for the Knights.
 
The Mariners return home on Saturday, April 18, when they host SUNY Maritime on Senior Day. Opening draw is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Brooks Stadium.
