NEW YORK (Jan. 16, 2026) – Senior Stephanie Schatzman (Virginia Beach, Va.) recorded a second-place finish in the 60m dash on Friday to lead the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women's track & field team at the Ramapo Opener held at the world-famous Nike Track & Field Center at The Armory. No team scores were kept at the event.

Schatzman crossed the finish line of the unseeded 60m dash with a time of 9.15. The race featured many DIII runners, two DII runners and one junior-college runner at the multi-divisional meet.
 
Picking up personal-records at the meet were the following Mariners:

• Sophomore Morgan Doll (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) in the 60m hurdles (10.36) and the 400m (1:06.15)
• Freshman Eleanor Romeo (Carson City, Nev.) in the one-mile run (5:40.53)
• Freshman Harmony Taylor (Morgantown, Ky.) in the one-mile run (6:14.37) 

Kings Point returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 24, when they participate in Southern Connecticut State's William Sutherland Invitational, which will begin at 12-noon at the Owls' James Moore Field House on their New Haven, Conn., campus.
