Women’s Lacrosse Cruises Past Mt. St. Mary 17-6 In Skyline Action At Home

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 3, 2025) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women's lacrosse team cruised over Skyline opponent Mount St. Mary, 17-6 on Thursday evening at Brooks Stadium. The Mariners' third-straight victory improves their record to 5-2 (2-0 Skyline) on the season, while the Knights fall to 5-7 (1-2 Skyline).

Meet Links Senior Lauren Jablonowski (Levittown, N.Y.) led all players with a game-high 10 points as she registered a career-high six goals to go along with four assists. Classmate Gianna Russo (Wake Forest, N.C.) and sophomore Leslie Wysong (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) both recorded six points each on four goals and two assists. Freshman Reese Ripley (Denver, Colo.) led the Blue and Gray with four draw controls and netted two goals, while fellow plebe Amber Fields (St. Augustine, Fla.) added a goal in the contest.

Defensively, Kings Point caused a total of 12 turnovers, with senior Nicole Nagengast (Seaford, N.Y.) leading all players with four and scooping up a game-high five groundballs, while Ripley had four.
 
Junior Karianna Eagle (Little Egg Harbor Township, N.J.) made five saves, added four groundballs, and earned the victory in net for Merchant Marine.
 
The Mariners got off to a quick start, opening up a 4-0 lead on two goals from Jablonowski and one each from Wysong and Russo before Mount St. Mary picked up the final two goals of the period to cut the deficit down to two, 4-2 after one. KP pulled away in the second quarter with a 4-0 run on a pair of tallies from Wysong and Russo to extend their lead 8-2 and took a 9-3 lead into the halfway point.
 
Four straight goals helped Merchant Marine grab a 10-goal lead, 13-3, on a Fields goal, then Ripley's second on the night got the advantage back to double digits, 14-4, to close out the third quarter. USMMA rolled the rest of the way in the fourth quarter en route to a 17-6 victory.

Karlie Ferruci led the Knights with two goals while Julia McGrinder snagged a game-high six draw controls.
 
Up next, Kings Point heads on the road to face Old Westbury in a Skyline matchup on Saturday, April 5, at 11 a.m.
