WEST POINT, N.Y. (Dec. 6, 2025) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women's track & field team opened its indoor season in commanding fashion on Saturday morning at the Crowell Open hosted by Army at Gillis Field House. The Mariners combined for 10 top 10 finishes and several personal bests on the day.
Sophomore Morgan Doll (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) posted four personal bests in all four events she competed in and paced the Blue and Gray with three top 10 finishes. Freshmen Eleanor Romeo (Carson City, Nev.), Lili Telvi (Southampton, N.Y.), and Harmony Taylor (Morgantown, Ky.) also each added a pair of top 10 efforts, and sophomore Lily Cary (Plymouth, Minn.) had one.

Doll set the tone early in the sprint events, placing eighth in the women's 200 meters with a personal best of 29.99, followed closely by Cary in ninth at 32.75. Doll added her highest finish of the day in the women's 400 meters, securing a strong third-place performance and a PR in 1:06.31.
Doll continued her impressive outing in the hurdles, earning her third top 10 finish of the meet with a ninth-place showing in the women's 60 meter hurdles in 10.63, while Cary followed in 11th with a personal best time of 11.66. Doll also set another personal best in the women's 60 meters, crossing the finish line in 8.94.
USMMA also delivered a strong performance in the women's mile, where Romeo led the group with a sixth-place finish in 5:57.43, followed by Telvi in eighth at 6:02.69 and Taylor in 10th at 6:23.10. The trio returned to produce another balanced effort in the women's 3,000 meters with Romeo placing eighth in 11:58.91, Telvi finishing ninth in 12:19.51, and Taylor capping out the top 10 finishers in 10th with a time of 12:41.41.
Merchant Marine returns to competition next weekend on Friday, Dec. 12, at the Seahawk Shootout, hosted by Wagner at Ocean Breeze in Staten Island, N.Y., at noon.
