KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Dec. 11, 2025) – The USMMA women's swimming & diving team battled NCAA Division II opponent Adelphi extremely hard, but ultimately lost by just seven points to the Panthers at home on Thursday night, 117-110. The defeat drops the Mariners' record to 5-2, while Adelphi improves to 4-2 with the victory.

Merchant Marine earned seven victories on the night listed below.
- Freshman Bryony Shipe (Ford City, Pa.) won the 1000 free in 11:23.20, a season-best time by nine seconds
- Freshman Natalie Scafetta (Menlo Park, Calif.) won the 200 individual medley in 2:19.74, a season-best time
- Freshman Natalie Woodman (Langhorne, Pa.) won the 100 freestyle in 56.98
- Freshman Kaitlyn Adams (King George, Va.) won the 100 backstroke in 1:02.81
- Scafetta won the 500 freestyle in 5:27.22
- Senior Jessica Felske (East Troy, Wis.) won the 100 breaststroke in 1:10.77
- The 200 free relay team of junior Catherine Kennedy (Columbus, Ga.), Adams, Scafetta and Woodman won in 1:45.85
The following Mariners also attained season-best times in their events.
- Shipe in the 200 free by one second (2:04.64) and the 500 free by nine seconds (5:33.49)
- Sophomore Molly O'Brien (Social Circle, Ga.) in the 200 free by two seconds (2:11.93) and in-season she had her best ever time in 100 free (59.84), a season-best
- Freshman Berlin Sandberg (Golden, Colo.) on both the one- (163.87) and three-meter (187.75) diving boards
The "Mariner of the Meet" honors, awarded based on a team vote to an individual for their performance and contribution to the team, went to senior
Delaney Cantlon (Burke, Va.).
USMMA is off from competition for the winter break and will return to action in the New Year when they host Hunter and John Jay in a women's-only tri-meet on Tuesday, Jan. 6, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Sue Petersen Lubow Pool.
