Women’s Swimming Opens Season With Pair Of Wins At SLC Quad-Meet

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. (Oct. 25, 2025) – The USMMA women's swimming started the 2025-26 campaign with two decisive victories on Saturday at a quad-meet hosted by Sarah Lawrence, defeating SUNY Maritime, 155-24, and the host Gryphons, 131-67. Bard College was also at the event, but did not compete for a score against the Mariners.
 
Meet Links The Mariners won nine of the day's 11 events, highlighted by several standout individual performances and a pair of relay victories that bookended the meet.
 
USMMA began the afternoon with a convincing win in the 200 medley relay, as freshman Kaitlyn Adams (King George, Va.), senior Jessica Felske (East Troy, Wis.), junior Catherine Kennedy (Columbus, Ga.) and freshman Natalie Woodman (Langhorne, Pa.) combined for a time of 1:55.60.
 
Freshman Bryony Shipe (Ford City, Pa.) swept the distance freestyle events, cruising to victory in the 1000 free (11:43.29) and later claiming the 500 free (5:45.19).
 
Junior Isabel Lunsford (Burnet, Texas) also notched two wins, capturing the 200 free (2:04.00) before returning to touch first in the 100 free (56.44).
 
Kennedy took the top spot in the 100 butterfly (1:02.81), while sophomore Georgia Magditch (Allentown, Pa.) led a strong Mariner showing in the 200 individual medley (2:26.94) and added a runner-up finish in the 100 backstroke (1:05.63) behind Adams (1:06.53).
 
Felske and junior Victoria Crofford (Fairfax, Va.) went 1-2 in the 100 breaststroke, with Felske touching first in 1:12.69.
 
USMMA closed the meet in style as Lunsford, Kennedy, Magditch and sophomore Molly O'Brien (Social Circle, Ga.) teamed up to win the 200 freestyle relay in 1:47.44.
 
The Mariners return to action on Friday, Nov. 14, when they host a Skyline Conference quad-meet against Mount St. Mary, SUNY Maritime and St. Joseph's-L.I. at the O'Hara Pool in Kings Point. Action is set to get underway at 6 p.m.
