KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Oct. 17, 2025) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men's soccer team rolled to a commanding 5–0 Skyline Conference victory over St. Joseph's Brooklyn on Friday night at Tomb Field. With the win, the Mariners improved to 10-3-3 overall (6-1-2 Skyline) while the Bears fell to 0-12-1 (0-7-1 Skyline).

Senior Jack Ouellette (Alexandria, Va.) opened the scoring in the 20th minute on a low strike inside the box off a feed from junior Patrick Novotny (Fort Worth, Texas) to make it 1-0. Five minutes later, sophomore Robert Derwin (East Meadow, N.Y.) doubled the lead in the 24th minute, converting a pass from Ouellette to make it 2–0. Sophomore Colin Robertson (Milford, Mich.) extended the advantage before halftime in the 44th minute on an assist from junior Noe Macias (Lansing, Mich.), sending the Mariners into the halftime break up 3–0.
The Blue and Gray kept their pedal to the medal in the second half as senior Drew Boukidis (Charlotte, N.C.) struck in the 58th minute on a setup by senior Michael Hofstetter (Deer Park, N.Y.) to make it 4-0. Robertson capped the scoring for USMMA with his second of the match in the 81st minute, assisted by junior Quentin Lueck (Bakersfield, Calif.), to seal the 5–0 victory.
The Mariners outshot the Bears 37-2 and dominated the corners 11-1.
Between the posts, junior Ethan Howell (Alexandria, Va.) earned the victory with one save in 68 minutes of action before classmate James Castoro (Garden City, N.Y.) closed out the combined shutout.
St. Joseph's Brooklyn goalkeeper Edwin Sacramento made 11 saves in the loss.
Merchant Marine returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at home in Skyline action against Farmingdale State at 7 p.m.
