MILTON, Mass. (Sept. 14, 2024) – The USMMA women's volleyball team earned a pair of victories at a tri-match hosted by Curry College on Saturday, winning the opener over Dean, 3-1, before besting the host Colonels in straight-sets. With the wins, the Mariners' record moves to 5-2 on the season.

Sydney Douglas (Herndon, Va.) and sophomore
Alexa Tipps (Palmdale, Calif.) both recorded double-doubles in the first match, as Douglas had a match-high 13 kills with 10 digs and Tipps dished out 13 assists to go along with 11 digs. Freshmen
Sophia Murray (Conroe, Texas) and
Maddie Mayer (Centennial, Colo.) added 10 kills apiece, with Murray also tying Tipps for the match-best with three service aces.

Stephanie Schatzman (Virginia Beach, Va.) picked up 23 digs and freshman
Kylie Creech (Osceola, Ind.) registered a team-high 16 assists.

In the Curry match, freshman
Jenny Dyke (Grand Rapids, Mich.) led all players with eight kills, Schatzman had 10 digs and Creech had a match-high 13 assists.

The Mariners are back in action on Tuesday night, Sept. 17, when they play host to non-conference opponent Hunter College. First serve is set for 7 p.m. inside the Liebertz Gymnasium.
