PATCHOGUE, N.Y. (Oct. 9, 2024) – The USMMA women's volleyball team secured a key road victory over St. Joseph's-Long Island in straight sets, 25-13, 25-22, 28-26, in a rematch of the 2023 Skyline semifinals out at the Golden Eagles' Danzi Center Gymnasium. The win improves the Mariners' record to 9-5 (2-1 Skyline), while SJLI falls to 7-8 (3-1 Skyline) in defeat.

Jenny Dyke (Grand Rapids, Mich.) hit at a team-best .313 clip with seven kills to go along with three blocks. Senior
Elizabeth Kay (Charleston, W.Va.) led Merchant Marine with eight kills, while also picking up six digs and registering three blocks. Freshman
Kylie Creech (Osceola, Ind.) recorded a double-double with 22 assists and 13 digs, and junior libero
Stephanie Schatzman (Virginia Beach, Va.) led all players on the night with 21 digs. Freshman
Maddie Mayer (Centennial, Colo.) had a team-best 10.5 points on five kills, four aces and 1.5 blocks (three assisted).
For St. Joseph's, senior Jackie Wolf registered a match-high 13 kills and grad student Katie D'Angelo contributed a double-double with 31 assists and 11 digs. Senior Sarah Montefusco picked up a team-best 20 digs.
Up next for the Mariners is another Skyline showdown, this time at Mount St. Vincent, this Saturday, Oct. 12, beginning at 12-noon at the Dolphins' Peter Jay Sharp Center.
