SALISBURY, Md. (March 14, 2023) – The USMMA men's lacrosse team knotted the score at one apiece at the 8:35 mark in the first quarter but allowed the fifth-ranked Sea Gulls to rattle off 12 unanswered goals to conclude the contest with a final score of 13-1.

The Mariners converted on more clear attempts (26-24) and clear percentage (81.3% to 80%) while notching two more saves (15-13), however the home side saw most of its other categories swung heavily in its favor.

Owen Barcus (Annapolis, Md.) scored Merchant Marine's only goal of the afternoon, his third game out of four with a score, and grabbed a season/game-high five ground balls while playing all 60 minutes.

Jack Collins (Memphis, Tenn.) set up Barcus' net-finding shot with his ninth assist of the year and logged a shot-on-goal as well.

In his season debut,
Mark Bredeck (Severna Park, Md.) caused a new career-high of three turnovers on top of two grounders.

Samuel Stephenson (Boca Raton, Fla.) snagged a contest-best 14 saves in goal while
Chris Neuman (South Huntington, N.Y.) won a Mariners-most six faceoffs.

King's Point will return back above the Mason-Dixon Line for its next matchup, a road game at Drew with a noon start time, on Saturday in Madison, New Jersey.
