WEST POINT, N.Y. (Feb. 18, 2023) – The USMMA women's track & field team competed at the West Point Tune-Up, hosted by Army on Saturday. There were no team scored kept at the meet, but the Mariners manufactured a trio of top-three finishes on the day, including one season-best mark.

Senior Kira Porzio (Palo Cedro, Calif.) cleared her season-best height in the high jump with a leap of 1.65m, and had to go into a jump-off against Army's Isabella Palchak to determine first place in the event. Palchack just out-jumped Porzio in the jump-off, leaving Porzio with an impressive second-place finish in the field of nine jumpers.
 
Senior Veronica Richards (Cincinnati, Ohio) had a second-place finish of her own in the 1000m run with a time of 3:44.44, while the 4x400m relay team of seniors Skyler Burnham (Reading, Pa.), Sarah Lyon (Battle Creek, Mich.), Sayra Raya (Wasco, Calif.) and Richards came in third place in 4:46.98.
 
Next Friday, Feb. 24, the Mariners will take part in the FastTrack Last Chance Invite in Staten Island, N.Y. Any live links for the event will be posted on the USMMA Women's Track & Field Schedule Page closer to the meet.
