Reid Garrison (Broadway, Va.) won his bracket at 285 at the New Standard Corp Invite hosted by York College this weekend, as he was one of three Mariners to reach the podiums at the meet. Sophomore
Wesley Wydick (Utica, Ohio) came in fourth at 133 and freshman
Tyler Withers (Gettysburg, Pa.) placed sixth at 184. As a team, the Mariners finished in ninth place over the two-day event.

Garrison went a perfect 4-0 with two wins on Friday night to reach the semifinals and then a pair of victories over nationally-ranked opponents on Saturday to claim the title at 285. He had a first-period pin in his opening round match, followed by a tech fall in the third period in the quarters. In the semis, the junior defeated the sixth-ranked wrestler in the country, Peter Wersinger of TCNJ, 2-1 in a second overtime to set up a championship match against 11th-ranked Adolfo Betancur of Johnson & Wales. He narrowly beat Betancur via a 7-5 decision, to win the bracket.
Wydick placed fourth at 133 with a 5-2 overall record. The sophomore earned two pins and one technical fall over the two days. Withers had a 4-3 record with all four wins coming via pins en route to his sixth-place finish.
Also finishing with winning records on the weekend were freshman
Colin Dragon (Richmond Hill, Ga.) at 125, junior
Eddie Pinc (Medina, Ohio) at 149, junior
Cade Cowley (Boulder City, Nev.) at 184 and freshman
Grant Mathias (Rockwood, Pa.) at 197. They all produced 3-2 records.
