For Wydick, this was his second-straight championship at 133. He went a perfect 3-0 with two pins in the first two rounds to reach the championship bout, and then an 8-1 decision there to win the title.
Â
Gutierrez had a bye in the quarterfinals before picking up a third-period pin in the semis to reach the title match. He defeated Johns Hopkins' Connor Powell to claim the individual championship by way of a 10-3 decision.
Â
Withers won his third-consecutive Centennial individual crown, with his first two coming at 184 and this year bumped up to 197. He, like Gutierrez, had a first-round bye and produced a second-period pin in the semifinals over his foe from Gettysburg. In the championship matchup, the junior defeated Muhlenberg's Ryan Fairchild with a 17-0 technical fall to take the top spot in the weight class.
Â
Two other Mariners earned third-place finishes, as sophomore
Logan Weaver (Suwanee, Ga.) went 2-1 with a pin and a major decision at 157 and freshman
Andrew Huesgen (Shillington, Pa.) also finished 2-1 on the day at 174 with both a fall and a tech. fall.
