(Oct. 17, 2023) – Powered by a season-best .459 hitting percentage, the USMMA women's volleyball team quickly handled Skyline opponent Purchase College on the road, 3-0 (25-6, 25-10, 25-7), for its seventh-straight victory. Senior Meredith Buchanan (Kathleen, Ga.) led the Mariners (11-7, 7-1 Skyline) with a match-high 14 kills on an incredible .722 clip with seven digs.

Freshman Erin Stillinger (Keller, Texas) added 11 kills on .647 hitting along with seven digs and a match-high three service aces, while senior Amy Jones (Roscoe, Ill.) put down six kills on a .625 hitting percentage. Freshman setter Alexa Tipps (Palmdale, Calif.) dished out 30 assists and had seven digs, and junior Elizabeth Kay (Charleston, W.Va.) led all players on the night with eight digs.
 
For the Panthers (4-16, 2-7 Skyline), who hit -.149 on the night, junior Lilith Bastek-Ochoa led the squad with four kills, while freshman Natalia Leite registered eight assists and classmate Maya Brown picked up seven digs.
 
Up next is the Mariners' Senior Night match this coming Thursday, Oct. 19, against Mount St. Mary College (3-17, 3-2 Skyline). First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m., but shortly before USMMA will pay tribute to its three graduating seniors with a special Senior Night ceremony.
