GETTYSBURG, Pa. (Jan. 21, 2022) – The USMMA wrestling team lost a pair of Centennial Conference duals to Ursinus (29-12) and Gettysburg (28-14) on Saturday at the Bullets' Bream Gym. The Mariners' record drops to 3-6 (0-2 Centennial) with the defeats.

Senior James Cruz (Belleville, N.J.) at 197 and sophomore Reid Garrison (Broadway, Va.) at heavyweight each won both of their matches on the day. They both had major decisions in the Gettysburg match. The Mariners' other victories on the day came from sophomore Eddie Pinc (Medina, Ohio) at 149 and from classmate Austin Manning (Virginia Beach, Va.) in the Ursinus match, while fellow sophomore Cade Cowley (Boulder City, Nev.) had Merchant Marine's lone pin of the day at 184 in the Gettysburg match.
