MORRISTOWN, N.J. (Sept. 14, 2022) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy women's soccer team defeated Saint Elizabeth, 7-1, on the road on Saturday afternoon. The Mariners earned their fifth-straight win to start program history at 5-0, while the Eagles fall to 2-3 on the season.

There were three goal-scorers for the Mariners on the day, as freshman
Morgan Mitchell (Amory, Miss.) scored four times, while senior
Cassidy Jester (Denton, Texas) found the back of the net twice, while also dishing out an assist, and sophomore
Shaylin Juhola (Brooklyn, Conn.) recorded her first career points with a goal and an assist.

In goal, sophomore
Margaret Ripperger (McKinney, Texas) made five saves to record the victory.

Ripperger's counterpart for the Eagles, sophomore Cecilia Smith, made eight stops. Sophomore Laila Kendle scored the only tally of the day for Saint Elizabeth.
