The game lasted only 75 minutes, as Lehman was short on numbers for the evening.
Freshman
Morgan Mitchell (Amory, Miss.) wasted little time scoring the quickest goal in the young history of the program, as she stole a defender's pass and beat the Lightning keeper low just 13 seconds into the game.
She quickly made it 2-0 just under five minutes later in the sixth minute off a nice through pass from sophomore
Natalie Colpoys (Rochester, N.Y.). Mitchell would go on to add two more in the second half for the Mariners' first four-goal game in program history. The four tallies brings her season total to 11.
Senior
Jessica Gamsjager (Denton, Texas) ripped a shot from 30 yards out in the 17th minute to make it 3-0, and Colpoys added her third goal of the year in the 43rd after she stole a goal kick, and fired it past a diving keeper.
In the second half, freshman
Emma Cox (Huntingtown, Md.) found the back of the net two-straight times in the 72nd and 74th minutes, followed by Mitchell's last two that closed out the scoring.
The Mariners out-shot the Lightning, 32-1, with the visitors' lone attempt coming in the second half, but sailing wide right of sophomore
Margaret Ripperger's (McKinney, Texas) net. Ripperger earned her third shutout of the season.
For Lehman, sophomore Josefina Flores made seven saves on the night.
The Mariners return to action on Saturday, Sept. 17, when they travel back to New Jersey to take on St. Elizabeth University. Kickoff is scheduled for 12-noon at the Eagles' SEU Soccer Field. Any live links for the game will be available on
