WESTMINSTER, Md. (Feb. 5, 2022) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy wrestling team competed in its second and final weekend of Centennial Conference action on Saturday at McDaniel College, where the Mariners won
their first two duals of the day against Gettysburg (30-18) and the host Green Terror (21-18) before falling to Washington and Lee (31-9) in the finale. With the 2-1 record on the day, the Mariners improve to 5-4 overall (4-2 Centennial) on the season.

Senior
Dominick Esposito (Marlboro, N.J.) went a perfect 3-0 on the afternoon at 174 with one pin in the opener against the Bullets, followed by two decisions.
Four other Mariners had two victories each – classmate
Max Sims (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) at 197, junior
James Cruz (Belleville, N.J.) at both 184 and 197 and freshman
Tharen Burns (Spring Valley, Calif.) at 157.
Also picking up pins on the day were freshmen
Cameron Pleninger (Havre, Mont.) at 133 and
Eddie Pinc (Medina, Ohio) at 141, senior
Billy Sims (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) at 184 and freshman
Reid Garrison (Broadway, Va.) at 285, all against Gettysburg.
The Mariners are back in action on Wednesday night, Feb. 9, when they travel up to New London, Conn., to take on arch-rival #9 Coast Guard. First bout is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. If any live links are available for the dual match, they will be listed on
