MADISON, N.J. (Sept. 25, 2021) – The USMMA women's volleyball team lost another heart-breaking five-setter on Saturday morning to Drew, 20-25, 28-26, 21-25, 25-12, 15-11, but rebounded to take the second match against Wilson College in straight sets, 25-15, 25-13, 25-18. The Mariners' record moves to 8-3 on the year with the split.
 
In the opener, senior Taylor Gilbertson (Phoenix, Ariz.) led USMMA with 17 kills as part of a double-double effort with 12 digs. Sophomore Meredith Buchanan (Kathleen, Ga.) and senior Sierra Steffen (Encinitas, Calif.) chipped in with double-digit kill efforts, as they both had 11 kills apiece. Senior Brittney Pinzon (Fullerton, Calif.) dished out 21 assists, while sophomore Claire Hyun (Issaquah, Wash.) also had a double-double with 19 assists and a match-high 21 digs.

In the second match of the day, Gilbertson led all players in the game, as she had 11 kills on an impressive .667 hitting (11k-1e-15ta). Pinzon recorded a match-high 15 assists and Hyun dished out 12 helpers.
