(Sept. 25, 2021) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy men's soccer team defeated Skyline Conference opponent Old Westbury, 2-0, on Saturday in a game played on the campus of Farmingdale State College. The Mariners' victory, their fifth-straight, improves their record to 6-4 (3-0 Skyline), while the Panthers fall to 2-4 (0-2 Skyline) with the setback.

Derek Vanasse (Camarillo, Calif.) opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a tally that wound up standing as the game-winner. Senior
Abram Ehrhorn (Papillion, Neb.) added an insurance goal in the 53rd minute.

Chase Miller (Boise, Idaho) continues to extend his shutout streak, as he recorded his fifth-straight blank sheet (third solo). He made four saves, while his counterpart for Old Westbury, senior James Perciballi, made five saves in the losing effort.
