HAMPTON, Va. (Feb. 15, 2026) – The USMMA women's swimming & diving team competed at the 2026 NJAC Championships over the last four days down at the Hampton Aquaplex in Virginia. Two Mariners broke academy records and there were a total of 20 lifetime-best times for the ladies over the weekend en route to a seventh place team finish.

Isabel Lunsford (Burnet, Texas) set a new academy record in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.49 on Friday. It was the Mariners' first new program standard in two seasons. The very next day, freshman
Natalie Scafetta (Menlo Park, Calif.) set KP's new record in the 400 individual medley with a time of 4:42.26. Both Lunsford and Scaffeta came in 10th place in those respective events.
The "Mariner of the Meet" honors, awarded based on a team vote to an individual for their performance and contribution to the team, went to Lunsford.
Listed below are the rest of the Mariners' top-24 finishes, including a number of lifetime-best times.
(Note: Not all 20 lifetime-bests are included below, as most happened during the morning/preliminary rounds.)
- The 200 medley relay of freshman Kaitlyn Adams (King George, Va.), senior Jessica Felske (East Troy, Wis.), junior Catherine Kennedy (Columbus, Ga.) and Lunsford finished sixth and shaved seven seconds off their season-best time (1:48.95), narrowly missing out on the academy record
- Junior diver Victoria Crofford (Fairfax, Va.) placed sixth in the three-meter dive (3:00.69)
- The 400 medley relay team of Adams, Felske, Kennedy and freshman Natalie Woodman (Langhorne, Pa.) came in seventh place (4:06.04)
- The 200 free relay team of Felske, Lunsford, Adams and Woodman came in seventh place (1:40.51)
- The 800 free relay of Lunsford, Scafetta, freshman Bryony Shipe (Ford City, Pa.) and Woodman finished in eighth and shaved seven seconds off their season-best time (7:59.71)
- The 400 free relay team of Woodman, Scafetta, Shipe and Lunsford came in eighth place (3:40.42)
- Lunsford came in eighth place in the 200 free (1:56.66)
- Scafetta came in eighth in the 1650 free (18:11.92), a lifetime-best by 21 seconds
- Lunsford tied for 10th in the 50 free with a lifetime-best and academy record (24.49)
- Scafetta set an academy record and came in 10th in the 400 IM (4:42.26)
- Crofford came in 10th in the one-meter dive (226.20)
- Felske came in 10th place in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.09)
- Shipe came in 10th in the 1650 free (18:28.29), a season-best by 50 seconds
- Shipe placed 11th in the 400 IM (4:43.66), a lifetime-best by three seconds
- Felske came in 12th place in the 200 breast (2:28.49), a lifetime-best by one second
- Scafetta came in 14th in the 500 free (5:16.05), dropping 1.75 seconds from the prelims
- Kennedy placed 15th in the 100 butterfly (1:00.34)
- Shipe came in 17th in the 500 free (5:19.21)
- Kennedy came in 17th place in the 200 fly (2:17.72), a lifetime-best by two seconds
- Felske came in 21st in the 50 free (25.08)
- Senior Delaney Cantlon (Burke, Va.) came in 23rd in the 100 breast (1:13.55)
- Adams placed 23rd in the 100 backstroke (1:02.10)
- Woodman came in 24th in the 50 free (25.94)
- Kennedy game in 24th in the 200 IM with a new lifetime-best (2:17.35)
- Woodman placed 24th in the 200 free (2:05.56)
- Sophomore Molly O'Brien (Social Circle, Ga.) came in 24th in the 100 breast (1:15.18)
- Cantlon came in 24th place in the 200 breast (2:47.75)
The Mariners are back in action on Saturday, Feb. 21, when they travel into Manhattan to take part in the NYU Invitational beginning at 10 a.m. at the Violets' Palladium Athletic Facility.
