NEW YORK (Feb. 8, 2020) – The USMMA men's and women's divers competed in the New York University Invitational Friday night and Saturday afternoon. The Mariners sent ten divers to compete in the two boards - the women's one-meter and men's three-meter on Friday night and the women's three-meter and men's one-meter on Saturday.
Junior Gillem McMillan (Knoxville, Tenn.) came in first place in the three-meter board against tough competition from the host Violets, Lehman College and Division 1 Manhattan College. He scored an NCAA qualifying mark of 346.45. McMillan came in fourth place on Saturday in the one-meter with a score of 268.50.
On the women's side, sophomore Hannah Taylor (Owings Mills, Md.) led the Mariners with fifth-place showings in both the one-meter (181.30) and three-meter (190.30) boards.

The full USMMA swimming & diving teams return to action later this month for the annual Metropolitan Conference Championship Meet Thursday-Sunday, Feb. 20-23. As in years past, the Met Championships will take place at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J.
