United States Merchant Marine Academy

Beau Bruno enters his 17th season at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in 2025-26 and, after spending the first 12 years as the assistant coach, has served as the Mariners' head coach since 2021-22 after having the "interim" tag removed in the summer of 2022. Bruno came to the Academy after working as an assistant coach at New York University.

Beau began his collegiate wrestling career at Seton Hall University. After two seasons with the Pirates, Bruno transferred to Binghamton University. At Binghamton he was named Academic All-American his senior year as well as placing fourth at the Division I CAA Conference Championships at 149-pounds.

Bruno earned a Bachelors Degree in Human Development in 2004 from Binghamton University and received a Masters Degree in School Counseling in 2006 from Fordham University.

Bruno is a native of Mineola, N.Y., where he currently resides. He placed second in the 1999 New York State Championships out of Mineola High School and earned a bronze medal at the 1998 Empire State Games.
