BRONX, N.Y. (Oct. 12, 2019) – The USMMA men's soccer team tied Skyline Conference opponent Mount St. Vincent, 0-0, on Saturday up at the Dolphins' Athletic Field at Marillac. The draw moves the Mariners' record to 8-4-1 (5-1-1 Skyline), while CMSV moves to 1-10-1 (0-5-1 Skyline).
The Mariners outshot the Dolphins by a total of 33-12, including a 14-4 advantage in shots on goal.
Merchant Marine senior goalkeeper Matthew Milner (Mount Airy, Md.) turned aside all four of Mount St. Vincent's shots on goal, while CMSV senior keeper Padelis Astrinidis made an impressive 14 saves.
Both Milner and Astrinidis earned shutouts for their efforts – it was Milner's sixth shutout of the year (fourth solo).
The Mariners are back in action on Tuesday night, Oct. 15, when they travel to Aviator Field in Brooklyn, N.Y., to take on Skyline opponent St. Joseph's-Brooklyn beginning at 7 p.m. Live stats and a live video feed of the game will be available with links on the USMMA Men's Soccer Schedule Page.
