NEW YORK (Dec. 14, 2017) – The USMMA men's basketball team lost its Skyline Conference contest on the road Thursday night at Yeshiva University, 70-65, in overtime at the Maccabees' Max Stern Athletic Center. Senior George Hatzioannides (Oakland Gardens, N.Y.) recorded 25 points to lead the Mariners and junior David Washington (Frisco, Texas) notched a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 20 rebounds. Sophomore Eric Sobocinski (Southampton, N.J.) rounded out the Mariners that scored in double-figures with 10 points, while senior Robbie Kennedy (Spring Lake, N.J.) contributed a game-high seven assists and six steals on the night.

The score was tied four more times the remainder of the half, as both teams had chances to seal a win, but the game went to overtime with the teams tied, 62-62.
In the extra frame, Sobocinski opened the scoring with a three-pointer to give the Mariners the advantage. However, those were the only points USMMA would score in the stanza, as the Maccabees rattled off the next eight points to secure the victory.
