Baseball Ranked Seventh In New York Region

KINGS POINT, N.Y. (April 25, 2019) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy baseball team has been ranked regionally in the first NCAA rankings of the season, which were released on Wednesday. The Mariners check in at seventh in the New York Region.

USMMA boasts a 25-9 overall record, including a 12-4 mark in Skyline Conference action. They currently sit in second place in the Skyline standings. Earlier this season, they matched the program record with 12-straight victories.

Just one other Skyline team is featured in the rankings, as the conference regular season champion Farmingdale State Rams (27-7, 15-1) came in at fourth. The Mariners were the only Skyline team to defeat FSC this year, taking the first game of their doubleheader back on March 23, 5-2, on the road at Farmingdale.
