KINGS POINT, N.Y. (Sept. 5, 2026) – The USMMA women's volleyball team swept its home tri-match on Saturday, taking the opener 3-1 over Suffolk University (25-15, 25-20, 23-25, 25-16) before winning in straight-sets in the nightcap over Saint Elizabeth (25-6, 25-6, 25-6). The pair of victories brings the Mariners' record to 3-0 on the season.

Against Suffolk, freshman Miranda Zeng (Cupertino, Calif.) dished out 52 assists and led the Mariners with five service aces, while fellow plebe Anna Kelly (Orange, Texas) posted a double-double with a team-high 13 kills and 13 digs, hitting .375 on the day. Senior Erin Stillinger (Keller, Texas) added 12 kills on a .423 hitting percentage, and junior Sydney Douglas (Herndon, Va.) and sophomore Carly Soboloski (Peoria, Ariz.) chipped in eight kills apiece, hitting .438 and .353, respectively. Senior Alexa Tipps (Palmdale, Calif.) paced the defense with a match-high 16 digs.
 
Against Saint Elizabeth, freshman Candy Saz-Price (Cabot, Ark.) led the offense with eight kills while hitting .500, while Douglas and freshman Lanae DuBose (Baytown, Texas) each put down seven kills. Douglas hit .778 with nine digs and four aces, while DuBose hit .429 and served up a match-high six aces. Freshman Kailey Miller (Plain City, Ohio) added five kills on six errorless swings for an .833 hitting percentage, while fellow plebe Savannah Smith (El Paso, Texas) handed out a team-high 17 assists.
 
The Mariners return to the court on Tuesday night. Sept. 8, when they take on arch-rival Coast Guard to begin the battle for the 2026-27 Superintendents' Trophy. First serve is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Bears' Roland Hall.
