NEW LONDON, Conn. (Feb. 28, 2026) – Three USMMA divers competed at the NCAA Northeast-North Region Championship Meet this weekend, hosted by Connecticut College. Freshman Carter Kov (Goodyear, Ariz.) led the way for the Mariners, officially qualifying for the NCAA National Championships by winning the three-meter board, while the two others divers closed out their strong seasons.

Meet Link Kov was the Regional Champion in the three-meter competition on Friday, finishing in first place among the 12 divers at the event with a score of 500 points even over the 11 dives. Junior Charlie Williams (Vienna, Va.) recorded a score of 318.20.

On Saturday, Kov came in second place in the one-meter discipline with a score of 472.60. He was just under seven points behind the first-place diver from Tufts. The freshman was the overall points leader over the two days, good enough to be crowned the Regional Diving Champion.

Senior Thomas Cable (Litchfield Park, Ariz.) scored 398.85 points on the one-meter board, ending an illustrious career that included three trips to the NCAA National Championships, two All-America performances, multiple Diver of the Year honors and the Academy record for 1M (11 dives).

Williams compiled 327.90 points over the 11 dives on the one-meter board, finishing his first appearance at the Regional Championship in his three seasons thus far at Kings Point.

By winning the three-meter event on Friday, Kov has automatically qualified for the NCAA DIII National Championships, which will take place March 18-21 in Indianapolis, Ind. The Mariners will find out if any other team members will join Kov at Nationals when the NCAA announces the full field of qualifiers in the coming days.
