FLUSHING, N.Y. (April 6, 2025) – The U.S. Merchant Marine Academy tennis team lost its Skyline Conference tilt to Yeshiva University, 4-3, on Sunday at the USTA National Tennis Center in Queens. The setback drops the Mariners' record to 2-2 (1-1 Skyline), while the Maccabees improve to 7-3 (5-0 Skyline) with the victory.

RJ Novak (Yorktown, Va.) picked up a 6-3, 6-4 win at #3 and sophomore
Josh Staroselskiy (Brooklyn, N.Y.) won 6-3, 7-6, at #6.

A win for the Maccabees at #4 singles sealed their victory, even though sophomore
Brent Mathews (Falls Church, Va.) closed out the match with a 7-5, 6-3, 7-5 victory at the top flight.

Up next, the Mariners host arch-rival Coast Guard on Wednesday, April 9. First serve of doubles competition against the Bears is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the Brooks Stadium Courts.
